Hammonasset Beach State Park is located on the Long Island shore in Madison, Connecticut. Migrating shorebirds, waders, seabirds, and wintering waterfowl and owls are regularly seen at Hammonasset. Ospreys nest in the park. The east end of the park has views of the Sound as well as Clinton Harbor. Salt marshes abound with waders. Willards Island provides a bonanza of neotropical migrants in spring.
