This year, the Connecticut State Legislature is convening for a “long session.” Audubon is seeking legislation in several areas to protect birds and the places they need. Among these are bills to:
Increase funding during the 2027-28 Biennial Budget Process, including a CCC-type youth employment component.
Expand nature-based solutions
Promote coastal resilience that is compatible with bird habitat needs.
Respond to the significant decline in Osprey chick survival by protecting forage fish.
Join us as we host Robert LaFrance, Director of Policy for Audubon Connecticut, for a discussion of these and other legislative initiatives and to learn what you can do to help get them passed. Before joining Audubon, Rob spent years at DEEP as its legislative liaison and brings strong relationships with legislators to Audubon.
