Snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus) is a sparsely  branched shrub 2-5 ft. tall, that gradually forms a thicket 4-6 ft. wide. The slender, wiry twigs bear tiny, pinkish-white, bell- shaped flowers in small clusters followed by clusters of white berries that appear in late fall and remain  through the winter. It will grow in full sun, partial shade, or full shade, and dry to moist soil. Songbirds, small mammals, and browsers use this plant for food, cover, and nesting sites. The plant is a host for the sphinx moth larvae.
Its berries are poisonous to humans.
