Shoreline and Shorebird Conservation

Lunchtime with the Stewart B McKinney National Wildlife Refuge Interns

The Friends of Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge and Menunkatuck Audubon are hosting several virtual presentations about wildlife produced by the refuge summer seasonal interns.

Have you noticed some funky-looking birds running and flying around your favorite beaches? Have you also noticed that in some places, the beaches have changed? Maybe the dunes are smaller, or the plants have changed, or the birds you see are just the gulls grappling for your french-fries? These are common changes affecting our shorelines and may not always be for the best. Join us on Zoom learn more about coastal birds, the beaches, and current conservation efforts. Annalee Mears, FWS shorebird intern, will be giving a virtual presentation on the shoreline and the benefits of its conservation.
