Strength in Numbers - Why Some Birds are Better Nesting Together

Lunchtime with the Stewart B McKinney National Wildlife Refuge interns

Do you recognize the term “colonial nesting”? If not, you might want to join us from 12-1pm on Monday, August 9. Tern Colony Research Intern Keelyn Kotecki will be discussing the different reasons why birds nest in colonies, what types of birds form colonies, and how you can get involved. Learn about predation pressures, the benefits of learning the best places to get food from other birds, and be able to identify colonial nesting birds in your home state of Connecticut.

Register to get the Zoom link.
